This recipe was submitted by Carol in White Lake. She makes for a special party treat to be served with whole wheat crackers. We tried it here at RING!, loved it and think that you will too!
5 lbs. Ground Beef (or Chuck)
5 Tablespoons Tender Quick Morton Salt
2.5 Tablespoons Mustard Seed
2.5 Tablespoons Coarse Ground Pepper
2.5 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
Mix all the ingredients together in a glass or ceramic bowl. Cover and refrigerate. Mix once a day for the next three days. On the fourth day, shape mixture into five 6 inch long rolls.
Put rolls on a broiler pan and bake at 150 degrees for 10 hours, turning once after 5 hours.
The logs will look red when done.
