Hello,
I have a question regarding the, let's say risks, of second cousin relationships. The political issues are rather obvious since it is in the family no matter how you measure it. I was wondering, however, is the "biological" problem associated with first cousin relationships also attached to one involving second cousins? Or would one be able to say that in that regard there is a line between first and second cousin relationships, so that the only pertinent consideration with 2nd cousin relationships is a political issue? You find alot on the ill affects of first cousin ( common bloodline ) relationships but nothing on where such problems are no longer an issue ( biologically speaking)
Thanks,
Curious Bio Major

Wow, you are really asking me to dig deep on this one! Since you are the Biology Major, you should be able to calculate the chances/odds of mutant/defective DNA heritance down to the second cousin level.
Quite frankly, I'm getting very tired of the "cousins" issue and don't care to figure it out myself!

I have no clue! I suggest you consult a medical source to obtain accurate information.
